The primary focus of the occupational therapist is the development of adaptive skills to enhance the individual's ability to function.
Occupational therapists can treat the following:
- Hand therapy
- Splint fabrication for injuries and joint protection
- Work conditioning and ergonomic training for return to work
- Retraining for activities of daily living
- Adaptive equipment training
- Pediatric/geriatric therapy
- Cognitive stimulation/retraining
