One out of every two women over the age of 50 is affected by osteoporosis, the gradual thinning and weakening of bones that can lead to bone fractures.
A bone density scan is done by a mammography tech using a machine called DEXA. It is a quick and painless test that can help assess bone loss associated with osteoporosis. If you are over 50 or have a family history of osteoporosis, talk to your doctor about the benefits of a bone density scan.
Please note: All DEXA Scans are performed at Community Radiology Center located in the professional center across Highway 18 from the hospital.
The address is:
232 NE Norton Lane, McMinnville, OR.
