Education
The Cancer Center lobby hosts a convenient patient education area, generously donated by the Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation. Included in the education area is a computer and printer available for patients to access the internet and print-off resources, applications and cancer education and information. There is also a library which patients and families can utilize and checkout a variety of books.
Social Services
The staff at the Cancer Center understands that cancer can present challenges in many aspects of your life. A social worker is available to all patients undergoing cancer treatment at our facility. The social worker can assist you in finding resources in many different areas such as financial, transportation or care giving needs.
Look Good…Feel Better is a free program sponsored by the American Cancer Society offered at our Cancer Center to assist our patients manage their treatment and recovery with greater confidence. Cosmetology professionals are available to help with adapting make-up applications and choice and care of wigs, scarves, turbans and hats. Call (503) 435-6590 for more information or to register.
Support Group
The cancer center offers a support group to individuals living with cancer. The group meets the first Thursday of every month from 3:30 to 5:00 PM. For additional information or to register for the group call (503) 435-6590 x8740.
Grief Support Group
The grief support group is sponsored by Legacy Hospice Service of McMinnville. This free program is for adults in our community, who have lost someone close to them by death. The group meets at 2250 NE McDaniel Lane, here in McMinnville. The program is ongoing, every Monday from 3:00 to 4:30 PM.
