Once again Willamette Valley Medical Center has been recognized for outstanding quality by a national organization. On September 19 The Joint Commission announced that we have earned Top Performer on Key Quality Measures recognition.

This means that when we are treating patients for pneumonia, heart failure, and surgical care we give the right medications, at the right time, for the right duration to get patients better faster and prevent complications.

Only four other hospitals in Oregon earned this recognition.

We also earned this recognition last year – and were one of only 244 hospitals nationwide who earned the recognition two years in a row.

This recognition helps reinforce the importance of core measures, a set of best practices The Joint Commission (and Medicare) monitors because they believe they result in the very best care for patients.

In addition to all of the hard work of our staff in providing this care, our physicians and other medical staff members have been an essential part of this success.  Our physicians care about their patients, and are committed to collaborating and cooperating in order to provide the best care to our patients. We never take our eyes off  these core measures.  It is a part of our culture.
