Questions to ask your physician before surgery

• How is the surgical site confirmed and who marks the site?
• Will I receive antibiotic and when / before and after surgery and for how long?
• How is the hair trimmed from the surgical areas? (It should be clipped not shaved.)
• Will I need anticoagulant medication or compression stocking to help prevent post-operative blood clots?
• What of my current medications should I continue to take?
