Four Things You Can Do to Prevent Infection

• Clean your hands before touching or eating food and after using the bathroom, taking out the trash, changing a diaper, visiting someone who is ill or playing with a pet. Use soap and water for 15 seconds.

• Make sure your healthcare provider cleans his or her hands and wears gloves.

• Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze and wash your hands afterward.

• If you are sick, avoid close contact with other people and stay home. If you need to go your doctor call ahead and let them know you are sick so they can help to avoid infecting others.
